Ball Room

*sighs and leans against the wall again*
He said he had another lover before me. I suppose that could be her?
*looks down thoughtfully*

*Watches her* I see...

*ruffles hair, confused*
That is the only explanation I can come up with....

*pulls her hand away* Yea I guess...

*blinks and takes hand back*
*pushes off of the wall, motioning to the whole room*
Is there anything I can do for you Reign?
*points to the stereo*
We've got music, food, anything, really.

*Shakes his head* Im not hungry...

*nods*
Alright then.
*looks around at the room*
*walks over to the stereo and leans on the wall beside it*

*watches her* Why are YOU here?

*shrugs*
Force of habit.
*looks to the closet*
I sweep the floors, dust stuff, just make the room look its best, really.

*Nods and looks around, just now noticing how clean it was*

*closes eyes, enjoying the atmosphere*
I really should look after the rest of the castle too.....

*Watches her, crossing his arms* why do you do it?

Look after the castle?
*looks confused, then looks to Reign*
To tell you the truth....I'm not really sure.....

*Narrows his eyes* Why would you do it? whats the point?

*shakes head*
I don't know! I don't know why I do it.....
*looks to him*
Do I have to have a reason?

*Shrugs* In a way....there is always a reason to do something. Even when you think there isnt.

*crosses arms*
If you have any ideas, enlighten me.
*frowns*
Because I have no clue.

*Blinks and chuckles giving her a small smile, crossing his arms and legs and leaning against the wall*

I cant think of a reason you would. Which is why it baffles me. Just because I said there is always a reason doesnt mean I have to know why

*sighs and shakes head, sliding down the wall so that she is sitting*
It confuses me as well.....
*leans head back and looks to the ceiling*
There isn't really anything special about this place...
*closes eyes*
It's just a castle, abandoned by it's master.

*Looks up at the ceiling as well*

Sad isnt it?

*nods*
What's even more sad is how some people just....
*eyes open, looking at the ceiling*
....vanish.

*Nods* Yes, but I meant something else to.

*looks over to him, confused*
And what would that be?

*looks down at his hand, and says quietly, but loud enough to hear*

It seems the nature of man is to create and then forget. Look around you Echosong. Its not just this castle. Look at all the old ruins, temples, cities, castles.....things that we put blood, sweat, and tears into to create. And then just.....forget.....

*Slaps his hand hard against the wall, a loud snap echoing through the room and through the castle then suddenly becoming instantly silent*

Hear that? That is the sound of nothing. That is the sound our creations make after we have abandoned them...and then forgotten.

*listens intently, absorbing every word*
*shoulders begin to droop in sadness as she realizes how sad it is*
*slumps over so that her hair is in front of her face*
*smirks sadly*
Mankind......we really are a selfish race.
*places hands on knees*

The world is supposed to be full of sound, not deprived of it.
