Taking on a student

Twink sighed as he walked briskly up to the gates of the castle he had come to call his home. He looked behind himself to see if his new student was following.

[[Epic fail of a post, forgive me]]

*runs up to Twink*
He lives in a castle?!
*catches up to him and keeps a steady pace*
[[I've had worse XD]]

"That's not the half of it." He said, motioning toward the castle they stood before. He snapped his fingers once again, and returned to the form he was most used to these days. His robes changed to silk, mixed in with armor and gold to give him a regal and powerful look. His face became younger, more pale. His eyes were now a deep brown, and his hair was short, black, and a tad messy. Next to him stood a scepter that he would carry like a sword due to its size. "King Horus is my assumed name." He said cheerfully.

Echosong's eyes widened. She had asked a king to train her?!My god!She thought.
Well......Gandrake wanted her to get stronger."I can't belive I asked King Horus for help."Echosong continued to look amazed.

"Well...no...You asked Twink for training. Horus died." He said, as he forced the gates open. He continued down the path, motioning for her to follow. "You see, I used to use my...talents, to replace royalty when they left. They'd pay me and I'd move on. But I liked this place, so I executed the real king and took his place."

*walked through the gates*
So your Twink?
Or Horus?
I'm confused....

"Both. I was born twink, in a wizard's home. He taught me to transform and that's how I became Horus." He said, sounding a bit confused himself. "Sometimes I like to pretend I really am Horus, and then this 'fella reminds me I'm not." He said, holding up a small purple book. It had archaic runes all over its cover, written in gold and black and forming a circle with spines of runes snaking away from it. A slight humming sound came from the book, and then a voice. It was light and female, almost soprano. "Hello dear, its nice to meet you. You can just call me 'tome'" The voice said, coming from the general direction of the book.

*jumps*

I'm sorry, you startled me.

So if you are King Horus/Twink, did you take me on as an apprentice because I asked?

"Why else would I? You want to get stronger for your lover, I can't very well say no." He said cheerfully, as he stopped beneath a cherry blossom tree. He rested his scepter against the trunk and jumped up, wrapping his slim fingers against the smooth bark of a branch. He pulled himself into the tree and shifted into a comfortable sitting position.

*smiles up at him*

So, when do we start?

"Your going to train yourself as often as you can in our training grounds. Tonight meet me in my chamber and I will teach you the basics of magic, something you'll want to know if you even hope of competing with Akki. You don't need to use magic, but knowing how it works helps." He said in a sagely tone. He stood up on the branch and smiled down at her. "Get working." He said cheerfully as he kicked off of the branch. He landed on the cobblestone pathway and disappeared into the massive doorway of his castle.
